We are spread like a colorful carpet, some call us a tourist promenade, but we know that we are more than that. Every step you take along our path, like an invisible veil, keeps pace with many hardworking people who carried sacks full of flour and grain, with our hardworking millers, and with many peasants for whom the mills meant life. Maybe they are still there somewhere in the shadowy areas, invisible to the eye, keeping pace with you while carrying a heavy bag on their shoulder from which transparent flakes of flour are fluttering.

Look for our interpretation boards: the first one is easy to find because it is located near the church in the very center of the town, while the second one is located near the "Žgano vino" spring. We prepared an interesting visual reading for you right at the beginning. We did not want you to get lost or lose sight of important information, so you will find orthophoto maps of Ivanec and its immediate surroundings on both boards, where all the locations of the twenty historic watermills that once existed on the nearby Bistrica river are precisely marked.

Take a leisurely, unhurried walk from one historic watermill to another along our 6.7-kilometer trail. It will take you a maximum of three hours, and you will get a wealth of information about the rich milling past of this lovely and immensely beautiful area in return. If you are not from Croatia, don't worry, we have boards in both Croatian and English. Our people thought of everything, they love having guests of all languages and nationalities, and the more you know, the richer you are.
