Every year in the Ivanec town park on the weekend, the traditional manifestation "Finches – the wedding of the birds" comes to life. This manifestation is based on an old tradition in which children wandered around the yard in search of sweets, believing that the sweets were left for them by little birds who were getting married. This custom is known in these parts as the "wedding of the birds". According to popular belief, bird wedding guests usually leave small gifts for children on the branches of trees after the celebration. While the little ones were looking for gifts in the orchards, sometimes finches would get cold hands and feet. Today, children look for gifts in the park, and there is no shortage of fun and excitement.
