Viticulture

Nikaj na svetu lepšega ni (There is nothing more beautiful)

Neg' je gorica kad rodi. (Then vineyards bearing fruit)

Kumek moj dragi, daj se napij, (My dear friend, come and drink)

Dugo nas ne bu, daj se ga vžij! (We won’t live forever, enjoy the wine!)

Vineyards with picturesque cellars that rise on gentle hills at the foot of Mt. Ivančica, create an idyllic landscape that cannot leave any wine lover indifferent. This part of Croatia has a rich tradition of viticulture that lasts thousands of years. The vineyards of this region are part of the Haloza vineyard, where vines have been grown since ancient times.

Quality wines from Ivanec were appreciated around the world and were once served at festive banquets in Vienna, Budapest, London and Paris. Even today, these wines continue to win numerous awards and recognitions for their outstanding quality.
Different varieties are grown on these vineyards, including Grashevina white, Burgundy white, Grashevina rhein, Kraljevina, Moslavac (shipon), Silvaner, Muscat Silvaner, Traminer, Styrian white, Portuguese black, Frankovka and other varieties.

Wine has always had a special place in the lives of the people of this region. It was a source of strength and joy for peasants, workers, gentlemen and intending travelers. There is no joy without wine, and the people of Ivanec happily welcome their guests with wine, just as the verse from the Ivanec anthem says: “Z vinčekom te svaki rad ponudi."("Everyone gladly offers you with wine.") The vineyards of this region leave an indelible mark in the hearts of all who visit them, offering not only excellent wines, but also history and tradition intertwined with love for this noble drop.
